Automatic Payroll Deduction: At the 1999 AFA Board of Directors Meeting an agenda item was passed that stated all future contract negotiations would include efforts to establish automatic payroll deduction for the Pegasus Project. To date America West, Hawaiian, Mesaba and United Airlines have established this in their contracts. Through the efforts of the Alaska AFA leadership Alaska Airlines has now agreed to provide payroll deduction for their flight attendants. Automatic payroll deduction is the most efficient way to support Pegasus, as there is no administrative cost deducted from the initial donation, as there is when donations are made through organizations like United Way. We encourage members of Alaska Airlines, America West, Hawaiian, Mesaba and United Airlines to initiate the Payroll Deduction option that has been negotiated to assist our coworkers in need.

Individual Donations to Pegasus:  Individual donations to the Pegasus Project may be made by sending a check or money order made payable to the Pegasus Project to the following address. A tax-deductible receipt will be forwarded to you for your tax records.

Give on-Line: using the JustGive.org link on the home page of this website. A tax deductible receipt will be forwarded to you for your donation. There is a 3% administrative fee deducted from your donation. This is a very reasonable amount for this type of service.

Here are just a few ideas on what is already being done and being planned to be done to raise money for the Pegasus Project:

• Gently Used Uniform Items: At the America West Local Council office flight attendants donate their gently used uniform items for re-sale to New Hire classes with the proceeds all going to the Pegasus Project.

• Air Wisconsin created a Cook Book with favorite recipes from their members with proceeds going to Pegasus.

• US Airways has sold the Entertainment Books, which come out in the Fall and offer substantial discounts on Food, Hotel, Events and Travel. The Entertainment Books are sold in most major cities across the country with approximately 1/5 of the selling price of the book being donated to the non-profit organization doing the fund-raising.

• Onboard Recycle Aluminum Can Program- America West’s Food & Beverage Department, has signed an agreement with the vendor that caters their aircraft to split the proceeds received from recycling the aluminum cans that are removed from the used beverage carts on their planes. Half of these proceeds are given to the Pegasus Project.
