Testimonials
Confidentiality is the Cornerstone
of The Pegasus Project. The testimonials that are presented
below were provided by some of the flight attendants who
have been assisted by Pegasus and who have given their
permission to share their feelings about Pegasus with
others. Some of these testimonials talk about Pegasus
assisting only flight attendants, however, we are currently
working to bring the assistance of Pegasus to the entire US
Airways workforce sometime in 2012.
We often receive thank you cards
from flight attendants who have been assisted by Pegasus and
we felt their comments help capture the magnitude of the
importance they placed on the support they received from
Pegasus. Because we have not asked for their permission to
use their names, we have placed anonymous after their
comments.
To Everyone at the Pegasus Project,
My
gracious thanks to all of you for the support that I
received while I was out on leave for breast cancer. The
financial support, as well as the wellness checks have been
appreciated in such an immeasurable way. To my fellow

To All at the Pegasus Project,
I became aware of the Pegasus Project back in 2005 during
the United Way campaign, at which time I began to
contribute. It was not until September, 2009 when I reached
out to them, that I would fully understand the positive
impact they would bring to my life. From the very first call
I was met with understanding, compassion and the assurance
of confidentiality by the representative and, by the calls
end, it was as if I had been
speaking to a life long friend. The assistance provided
allowed me to meet my financial obligations, relieving the
pressure and stress, which allowed me to concentrate on my
recovery. I cannot adequately express my sincere
appreciation and gratitude to the Pegasus Project, but I
will forever be grateful. I encourage all to spread the word
of the Pegasus Project, become involved, and donate, if even
just a dollar per paycheck. Your donation, big or small,
makes a world of difference to those in need. Most
importantly, remember, that the Pegasus Project will be
there for you during your time of need.

Dear Pegasus Project,
I would like to express my undying appreciation to the
Pegasus Project. Sadly, I have experienced some financial
hardships due to serious illness. The Pegasus Project helped
me keep up with my bills while I was out on a medical leave
and recovering from brain surgery, provided emotional
support by just calling and checking on me and asking if
there was anything they could do to help, and not make me
feel humiliated in the process. I want to thank everyone at
the Pegasus Project, for all of their help. I believe that,
because of the help the Pegasus Project provided me, I was
able to avoid declaring Bankruptcy. The Pegasus Project is
an integral part of the Flight Attendant community and I
want to stress that everyone: flight attendants, pilots and
management, should contribute to this fund. We are very
lucky that we have the ability to contribute in so many
ways: recycling cans from the aircraft, payroll deduction,
general donations, volunteering, etc. so I hope that
everyone can take a moment and decide how they can help.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank The Pegasus Project
and all of the flight attendants who donate to this
wonderful cause. I was out of work for several months and
the Pegasus Project came to my rescue by helping me with
groceries and paying my electric and phone bills. Without
their much needed help, I surely would have gone hungry some
day and may have had my phone and electricity cut off. I
strongly encourage all flight attendants to open their
hearts and their checkbooks. Please donate to this wonderful

Dear Pegasus,
I just wanted to thank Pegasus for the financial and
emotional support. Your assistance has taken some of the
financial pressure off me, so I can concentrate on my
physical and emotional health. I have told many of my fellow
flight attendants about Pegasus and they are pleased that I

few years have been really financially difficult for me and

What a blessing and an answer to many,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the Flight
Attendants that so graciously donate to the Pegasus Project.
Pegasus has been a beacon in the night for me as I battle
breast cancer and they have come to my rescue during my time
of need. My goal is to return to America West and start
“giving back” to Pegasus. This is a project that is helping
so many flight attendants in their difficult situations. It
is challenging to deal with cancer and the financial stress
it can put on people. I would like to encourage Flight
Attendants to donate to this worthwhile organization. We
never know when we may be faced with a situation that will
put our lives into a different perspective.

To Pegasus & All My Flight Attendant Family,
Recently I was diagnosed with Progressive Dementia and am
taking medicine to help slow down this process as much as
possible. Unfortunately, not flying means no income and that
is the real challenge that I have in my life right now. We
can never really be prepared for a catastrophic illness and
the financial burden that it brings. I have been very
fortunate to have the assistance of The Pegasus Project

Dear Fellow Flight Attendants
I was diagnosed with lung cancer at just 38 years of age and
I was shocked beyond belief,
especially since I have never smoked a cigarette in my life!
I heard about The Pegasus Project, but I didn’t know much
about what they offered or where to begin getting their
assistance. I am a very private person and was almost too
shy to share my personal situation with anyone. Several
friends encouraged me to accept the help wherever I could
find it. It wasn’t until the medical bills began to
significantly impact our financial situation that I decided
to get onboard with this program. The assistance that I have

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer - It was a battle that I
fought and won until the spring of 2009 when I was diagnosed
with Uterine Cancer. I am very optimistic that the outcome
will be successful, however, I am now faced with many
financial obstacles. I am sure that you all realize that we
can never be prepared for a diagnosis such as cancer, but
what you probably don’t know is that the financial burden is
often more than any of us can handle. We think that we have
insurance that will cover catastrophic situations, but it
does not completely do that. Fortunately, I was told to
contact The Pegasus Project. I had never heard of this
organization before, but I am certainly glad that I made
that phone call to them. I have benefited greatly by their
financial assistance and emotional support.

Thank You Pegasus Project!!!! For helping me and my children
keep a roof over our heads. I never would have thought that
working that one flight could change my life forever. A
passenger on that flight had active tuberculosis, and I
caught the same strain of tuberculosis and I did go active
with it. I had developed so many complications and issues I
have been left with major damage to several organs and have
lost a few organs due to the Tuberculosis and all of the
complications. I am still fighting with the disease and I
have been off over a year without pay and I do not know what
my family would have done without the help from Pegasus
Project. I do know we would not have been able to keep a
roof over our heads without your help The Project Pegasus
has helped pay my rent and has been an absolute Godsend I
cannot express how much you have helped me.

I would like to thank Pegasus Project for being so
supportive and helpful in my time of need. I was diagnosed
with breast cancer early last year, went through 6 months of
chemotherapy and 3 months of radiation this year. With my
sick bank depleted and no pay checks coming in, it was a
relief to get some financial assistance from Pegasus Project
who paid part of my rent from January till May. It was a big
relief to know that I had a place to stay during this time
until I get back to work in June and start earning again.

The Pegasus Project has been a true blessing. I only worked
at PSA for 3 months before I had to go out on a medical
leave. I was in shock when I found out that my pay would
only be 50% of what my regular pay was. I also found out
that my cobra would take up all fo my disability each month.
I was very depressed and very worried about money. It would
have been extremely difficult to go through treatment
knowing that I may not be able to afford my insurance.
Pegasus has been a true blessing!!! I am very thankful for
all of the help that I have received.

When I first heard about The Pegasus Project I had no idea
what it was. When I looked into it, I realized it was just
for flight attendants. Pegasus came to my rescue so many
times that, without their help, I would have been in
